Plot |
A man wakes up from a coma in a London Hospital. There's nobody around; even the streets are empty. He reads the headlines on a paper in the street about a virus and the next thing he knows he's running away from some deranged people for his life.

Pros |
This isn't your standard horror/survivor movie; it actually goes much deeper than that. The character development is well thought out; you actually care about whether or not these people live as opposed to how gruesome their death will be. The cause for the people to turn isn't some unexplained reason casually blamed on a meteor or some other phenomenon; man did it to himself. |
Cons |
When the action kicks in, be prepared to adjust the volume on your set/system. The audio level when there's no action is fairly low so you'll want to turn it up to hear everything clearly; unfortunately when the action kicks in your speakers will literally knock you out of your chair. |

Recommendation |
A horror movie with a realistic plot and believable characters; what a nice change of pace. There's still plenty of gore for those of you that enjoy gore (myself included), but it's mixed in with reality which is unusual by today's standards. And if you're already paranoid and believe the world is screwed up, check out the "Pure Rage" featurette to help fuel your paranoia even more. |
