A small group of military members and their high-ranking leader are plotting to overthrow the US President. Gibbons (Jackson) recruits a past member of his unit (Ice Cube) to be the next xXx by breaking him out of prison.

More of the same as the first film minus Diesel and Argento. Anytime you have Dafoe playing the bad guy is a plus. If, like me, you're a fan of the group Bond, you'll appreciate the cameo in which they're playing one of their songs during a party.

This isn't as much fun as the first film; even Diesel backed out of this movie. They decided to up the action including a scene with a fictional Presidential bullet train. The soundtrack for the first film was metal; the one for this film is predominantly urban.

This is still a fun movie it's just not as good as the original. They're choosing Dafoe as the villain definitely helped things out. I do hope they continue this franchise.
