Plot |
This was inevitable after the 1st two films. " X-Men" introduced us to mutants and the two opposite factions they were forming. " X2: X-Men United" showed the two factions joining forces to fight a common enemy. So it was only a matter of time before they started fighting each other. The catalyst for this war is the humans have developed a "cure" for mutants and some many mutants feel threatened about losing their powers.

Pros |
Even more action and special effects than the last film. There are some new mutants introduced, but with the exception of Kelsey Grammer's character, they really don't play much of a role in this film. You do have to give them credit for being willing to kill off characters regardless of who they are and what they've done in the past. There is one flashback that helps explain the history between the two main mutant adversaries. |
Cons |
There are some lines in this movie that will simply leave you shaking your head thinking "Even I could have written something better than that". This isn't the same director as the first two films and it shows. Great plot potential and plenty of opportunities; it just feels like the film was rushed. |

Recommendation |
This is the X-Man movie designed to take a date to; plenty of action for the guys and sentimental stuff for the ladies. And, as usual with films nowadays, it ended letting the audience know there was plenty of thought for a forth installment as long as we are still willing to fork out the dough. Personally, I think this is a good ending for the series. By the way, the total lack of extras on this disc yells and screams that there will be a special edition out in the near future (just like the first film). Can you say "X-Men 3.5"? |
