Plot |
There are two types of people now on the planet; humans and mutants. Mutants all have their own unique powers that basically scare the shit out of the powerless humans. The mutants are split into two camps; the good mutants lead by Professor Xavier (Stewart) and the bad mutants led by Magneto (McKellen). Xavier believes that everyone should just get along and live in peace; Magneto believes that there will be a war and he’s going to see to it the mutants win.

Pros |
First off I have never read this or any other comic books so there is no way I can do a comparison. This movie does a good job of introducing everyone to the uninformed such as myself and has a strong "can’t we all just get along even though we are different" message. The special effects are good and if you want extras, look no further. |
Cons |
Since much of the movie is spent introducing everyone to the audience, the plot is very thin. They make up for this with a cool battle in the end and it was set up for a sequel. |

Recommendation |
A fun movie with lots of extras; even more than I’m willing to sit down and watch to completion (I skipped to the ones I was interested in). By pressing a button during the extras every time a circled X appears on the screen, it will take you to even more extras; a bit annoying since you have to have remote in hand. |
