Plot |
Six contestants are taken out into the woods for a new survival reality TV show. Unbeknownst to them, the woods are occupied by a mutated and very "close" family with some interesting eating habits. Let the fun begin!

Pros |
Seeing contestants from a reality TV show getting killed off in violent ways just seems right and how nature should work (that's one reality show I would be willing to watch). That information alone was enough for me to pick up the disc. I liked the fact that they didn't try to continue the story from the original movie but created a new story (don't get me wrong, not having Eliza Dushku around is a bummer); taking the time to explain how the mutant family came into existence was a nice touch. If you thought the first movie didn't have enough gore, this certainly makes up for it. |
Cons |
They simply replaced the suspense of the first movie with more gore and eye candy (don't worry ladies, you have some too). Even though you got the background of the characters, they were still the same stereotypical people you would expect; ex-jock, lesbian marine chick, smart girl, angry girl, horny girl, rude and immature skateboarding dude, etc. Up until the last 20-30 minutes, you're simply sitting around waiting to see who will be next (why do the most annoying people always live longer than people you actually like), will their demise be creative (i.e. extra bloody) and how much skin will the ladies be willing to share with us. |

Recommendation |
Even though the name states that this is a sequel, seeing the first film is not required. The acting is better than normal in horror sequels and the reality show storyline is, if nothing else, original. If you like this genre like I do, it's definitely worth the time. Don't be surprised to see another edition to this series on a dvd shelf near you soon. |
