Plot

Take Nazi Germany with today's technology then add an anti-hero and an unintentional heroin; you now have "V for Vendetta".

Pros

Natalie Portman shows, once again (Garden State), that people shouldn't judge her acting abilities on her role in the "Star Wars" movies. Even though the plot is predictable, the visuals, audio and script makes this movie a lot of fun to watch.

Cons

Even though it is based on a comic book that's twenty years old, they decided to move up the time so that the downfall of democracy could be blamed back on the U.S. for their intervention in Iraq. As previously stated, this movie is predictable.

Oh, yeah, disc 2. There weren't enough extras to justify a 2nd disc.

Extras

  • "Freedom! Forever!: Making V for Vendetta"
  • "Remember, Remember: Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot"
  • "Designing the Near Future"
  • "England Prevails: V for Vendetta and the New Wave in Comics"
  • Cat Power Montage
  • Easter Egg: "Saturday Night Live" Digital Short
  • Theatrical Trailer

Recommendation

I would say run out and buy this movie now, but after watching disc 2, you might want to rent it instead. I'm convinced there will be a "Director’s Cut Special Editions" coming out sometime around November’s elections. They had to have prepared more extras than what came out on this disc.
