Plot

Nine years after the last atomic test at White Plains, New Mexico, some strange deaths are occurring in the desert. Buildings are being ripped open and most the victims are nowhere to be found. Since there are giant ants on the cover of the dvd, you don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out where this story is going.

Pros

A fun movie with an extremely clear picture. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice a very young Leonard Nemoy saying a few lines. For a movie done in 1954, the special effects are quite good and it's nice seeing James Arness play something other than a Marshall Dillon (though he still plays a law man).

Cons

The dialogue and special effects are dated.

Extras

  • Behind-the-Scenes Archive Footage
  • Montage on the Design and Operation of Giant Ants
  • Cast Film Highlights
  • Theatrical Trailer

Recommendation

This is a classic and a must see for anyone into sci-fi movies.
