The Earth is being threatened by interstellar bugs; not because they went and attacked us but because Earth decided to eliminate them first because, well, they're bugs. You will follow a group of friends as they go through military training and then head to the jobs they're most qualified for (pilot, infantry and military intelligence).

Tons of humor, lots of gore and a little nudity. And yes, for the ladies, they threw in a couple of love stories. The special effects were very nicely done and look absolutely spectacular in high definition and the portrayal of Military Basic Training is hilarious. And unlike many films released on Blu-Ray, the audio was wonderfully upgraded to TrueHD.

This film is so heavily ladened with satire that a lot of people simply did not get it which is a little weird because it's so obvious. If you're a fan of history you can relate this to any of many wars that have been started throughout history because one side is too inferior or have a different religion. If you believe that the United States is too totalitarian in the way they deal with foreign countries then you'll be able to draw a lot of similarities between the Federation and the US government. And without naming names, some of the acting was a little weak.

Simply put this is a fun science fiction movie that has a lot below the surface if you're willing to pay attention. If you have a Blu-Ray player this will make a fine addition to your collection.
