Plot
Two musicians (Curtis and Lemmon) inadvertently witness the St Valentines Massacre and escape from the mob. To save their lives, they dress up as women and join an all female band that is heading to Florida for a gig. |
Pros
Simply put, it's funny. You could tell they had fun making the movie, especially Lemmon. Do take the time to check out the extras on disc 2. For a movie that’s almost 50 years old, there is a lot of material including interviews with both male stars and the director. Plus how many chances will you have to watch Marilyn Monroe in a movie? |
Cons
The movie isn't "roll-on-the-floor" funny, the humor is much more subtle. It's also filmed in B&W; the makeup the men were wearing had a green tint to it that showed in color. |

Recommendation
This is good, clean comedy that provides two hours of entertainment. Just don't expect your kids to like it, it's probably not humor they would appreciate. It was voted as the #1 Comedy at the American Film Institute. |
