Plot

It's the late 18th Century and a rather ambitious detective Ichabod Crane (Depp), wanting to use up-to-date scientific techniques to solve crimes, has become a thorn in the side of the local authorities. To get him out of their hair, they send him to a small village called Sleepy Hollow to solve numerous crimes involving beheading; ultimately putting him and his weird scientific ideas to test.

Pros

Look no further than the director (Burton) and the main star (Depp). Fortunately this wasn't turned into a movie for children; though it hardly seemed to earn an R rating. Depp does his normally outstanding job playing the quirky detective and having Christopher Walken as the horseman was a nice touch.

Cons

The video is very dark; you will not want to watch this in a bright room. And could someone please explain to me how a headless horseman can do everything he does without being able to see?

Recommendation

If you're a fan of either Burton or Depp watching this is a no-brainer. This is a very clever retelling of the classic story that has a little bit of everything; horror, gore, comedy and romance.
