Plot

A Cuban criminal (Pacino) makes it to Miami after Castro opens his harbor to allow thousands of Cubans to escape as refugees. This movie follows his career from low-time thug to the local kingpin. This is a very good look on how success, money and greed can turn an individual into something different.

Pros

This is a gangster movie and all guys like gangster movies. It has a very strong cast and it keeps your attention for all three hours; Pacino obviously steals the show though the rest of the cast is very strong. There's plenty of machismo here to go around for everyone with lots of foul language and violence.

You can add two counters to the bottom of the screen that will run through the entire movie; one counts "F" bombs and the other bullets. This can be entertaining for people that have already seen the movie; a little distracting if it's your first viewing.

Cons

If you're offended by foul language or violence then you'll obviously want to stay far away from this. The story is captivating but it doesn't take to long to figure out how it was going to end; it was just a matter of how many people were taken down with him.

Recommendation

This is a good old fashion gangster movie with Pacino as the lead. Simply put, it's a lot of fun.
