Plot |
An undercover cop (Reeves) is investigating the distribution of a new drug that is destroying millions of people. To fit in, he is also taking the drug which, as you can imagine, messes him up too; reality for him is becoming a blur.

Pros |
The acting is excellent. Reeves plays his typical non-emotional role, Harrelson is the "crazy" guy always overreacting, Cochrane as the really drugged-up beyond hope junkie, Downey Jr. as the intellectual smartass of the group and Ryder as the coked-up girlfriend. It takes a little while to get into the film, but once you do it's not only a lot of fun, but it will make you think. |
Cons |
It's animation! Good animation, ok, but animation nonetheless. For me, I lose all emotional ties to characters when they're cartoons and this story has such a strong storyline. Not " Requiem for a Dream" strong but not too far behind. This would have been MUCH better if shot live; MUCH better. |

Recommendation |
Great movie that shouldn't have been made as a cartoon. Once you get past the first 15-20 minutes it's a fun ride with great actors. Just wish we could see their real faces and emotions and let's face it, Winona is way cuter in real life. |
