Plot

This movie start exactly where the last one ended with a predictable yet painful opening involving the cop from Saw II. The game is still the same but some aren't as winnable as others. And even though even I found this hard to believe, they cranked up the blood and gore above and beyond the first two films.

Pros

Some cool new devices and an assistant that needs even more help than he does. The ending of this movie is exceptionally nice; you'll probably have an idea what's going to happen in the end but parts of it will likely take you by surprise.

Cons

Enough with the flashbacks to scenes that were in the previous films; it should be safe to assume the audience has already seen them by now. This was more like "Hostel" than the previous two films when it comes to the quantity, type and quality of the gore. Some of this stuff made me cringe.

Recommendation

If you're into gore, this will take it to a whole new level in the Saw series. Shawnee Smith takes her character to a whole new level. This does make you wonder about the people that think up these "torture" devices/scenarios.
