Plot

The T-Virus has completely changed the face of the planet; killing or turning most every life form on the planet. Alice (Jovovich) is still on the run from the Umbrella company when she runs into a group of survivors. The Umbrella company is trying to find a way to reverse the virus and, if possible, get their hands back on Alice since she is, after all, the key.

Pros

This pretty much follows the same pattern of the previous movies except this takes place in the Nevada desert. They took a little more time with the story than the previous movie but left in all the gore and violence. They did "borrow" some idea from other movies ("The Andromeda Strain", The Road Warrior Films and "The Birds" are a few that come to mind) but that's ok; at least they borrowed the good stuff. And with a runtime of only 97 minutes they didn't try to stretch this film out to be more than it is; an action/horror movie. Considering how it ended, look for another sequel (there is a trailer on the disc for an animated film coming up, not sure if it's a sequel or a stand-alone movie).

Cons

It's over 100 degrees in the desert and all of the women are fully clothed? What's up with that? Other than location expect much of the same as the previous films; high-wire fight scenes, good vs. evil, blood, gore and some pretty cool looking zombies.

Recommendation

If you liked the previous Resident Evil films you'll like this one. If you haven't seen them yet, do so before watching this one. And for those Jovovich fan boys out there, if there is a sequel you won't want to miss it.
