Plot

Watch the lives of four individuals with very good intentions and positive ideas of the future be destroyed by drugs; some are obviously illegal and others are innocent but not less addictive. Not all drug addicts are law breakers.

Pros

This is a graphic representation of what drug use can do to good people. The cinematography was perfect as well as the script. On top of it all, it does it with the star power of Jennifer Connelly and Ellen Burstyn; not a couple of untested/unknown actresses to say the least.

Cons

"Requiem for a Dream" pulls no punches; don't look for a sanitized documentary against drug addiction. You will not feel good when this film ends. I hereby challenge you to find a stronger anti-drug movie.

Recommendation

If I was a parent, I would insist that once my kids became teenagers they would have to watch this movie with me. Don't let the fact that Marlon Wayans is starring in this film make you think it's a comedy; there is nothing light about this movie. And this isn't just for the teenagers; this film proves that drug addiction comes in many forms.
