A retired FBI agent (Norton) is called in to help solve a string of murders. He is forced to enlist the help of a prisoner and genius (Hopkins) who tried to kill him years earlier when he got too close to catching him. This is the prequel to "The Silence of the Lambs".

Look no further than the cast; Ed Norton, Anthony Hopkins, Harvey Keitel and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Kudos also goes to Ralph Fiennes who pulled off the role as the "Tooth Fairy" with great success. He didn' have much to say but definitely pulled off the role of the creepy psycho killer.

After starting off with a bang, this movie drags for over an hour before it picks up for the finale. I find the original "Manhunter" to be a better take on this book.

It's a little long but well worth checking out. Any movie with the character Hannibal Lecter in it can't be that bad.
