Plot

This film revolves around three primary storylines that, from-time-to-time, cross paths; boyfriend/girlfriend armed robbers, two mob hit men and an over-the-hill boxer. As is typical with his films, Tarantino likes to tell his stories in a non-linear way.

Pros

I'm not even sure where to start so I'll simply hit the highlights. He has given an all-star cast and incredibly intelligent script with which to work with and accompanied by an extremely entertaining soundtrack. This movie jump-started the careers of Travolta, Jackson and Thurman to give you a clue to just how much attention this film received; almost all in a good way (see below). Reservoir Dogs put Tarantino's name on the map; this movie made him a star.

Cons

Rating: R (strong graphic violence and drug use, pervasive strong language and some sexuality). That pretty much sums it up. When this came out in 1994, it was considered by many to be too violent and people were complaining that the rating was too low; which is pretty funny considering where movies have evolved to at this day and how few people were actually harmed in the film.

Recommendation

This is in many peoples' opinion one of the best movies ever made. It is 2.5 hours long but it doesn't feel that way because you can't wait to hear whatever the next words that are coming next. It's impossible for me to pick a favorite scene but one that stands out, I'm sure somewhat due to the fact that I'm a big Christopher Walken fan, is when he's explaining to a little boy about the history behind the watch he's about to give him. This should be in everybody's collection and sees the inside of my dvd player more often than most films.
