A farmer and retired military man is trying to raise his family of five children after the untimely death of his wife. Unfortunately for him, the revolutionary war is starting to kick in. His oldest son joins the militia against his will, and, after an unfortunate series of events, he finds himself back into the thick of the battle as one of the American's strongest field commanders.

This has everything you're looking for in a good movie; great script/story, interesting characters played by talented actors, humor, action and some strong emotional scenes. The battles are loud and violent with some very graphic wounds. The video and audio on this disk is incredible!

The movie is almost three hours long and, at times, somewhat predictable. It is very hard not spending much of the time comparing this movie to "Braveheart" since the storyline is so similar.

This is a Blu-Ray disc I would strongly suggest purchasing. First off, it's already cheaper than most other Blu-Ray discs and secondly, the picture and sound is way ahead of it's standard DVD counterpart. Don't let the runtime worry you, this movie will keep your attention throughout.
