Plot |
It's 1944 and Spain is in the middle of a revolution. A mother marries a sadistic man that is a captain in the army. She and her daughter move out into the country to be with him and his men. Once they arrive, her daughter experiences a rather fantastic world.

Pros |
This is a decent story that comes with some really cool special effects. I like the way they leave you hanging on whether the fantasy she was experiencing could either be good or evil and the video is sharp/crisp. |
Cons |
If you're not fluent in Spanish, you will be stuck with subtitles. This movie was not dubbed in English. |

Recommendation |
This film came out with a lot of hype and my expectations were high. This is a good little fairy tale that should get a lot of credit for originality; I just can't rate this as one of the "best movies" made as many have done (just look at it's IMDB rating). |
