This is a film that focuses on his presidency with flashbacks back to less troubled times. Everything from the war in Vietnam War, China and Watergate are covered in great detail.

You don't have to look any further than the cast and the historical events that happened before and during his Presidency. Even some of the smaller roles are played by the likes of Sam Waterston and Madeline Kahn. Hopkins' portrayal of Nixon and Sorvino's portrayal of Kissinger is spot on.

Intermixed with all of the facts are events involving Nixon is what Oliver Stone added for drama (creative license). The problem is not being able to tell which is which. Throw in a 3.5 hour running time and this film can get tedious.

This is a very powerful film with superb performances by all the actors involved. My only gripe, which lowered my rating, is a lot of speculation, conspiracies and fiction are portrayed as fact. Take the time to watch the Oliver Stone interview with Charlie Rose that's an extra on Disc 2.
