Plot |
A small mining town is throwing their first Valentine party twenty years due to an event that shook the town and caused these parties to be outlawed.

Pros |
Horror fans will enjoy watching all the creative and bloody ways people are killed. The film does a good job keeping the suspense going and what could be scarier in a dark mine than a crazy miner who's identity is hidden by a mask? The acting is decent, the characters are interesting and the girls are cute. |
Cons |
By today's slasher standards, this film is a bit mild and I suspect the reason there was never a sequel is that they let you know who the crazy miner is. |
Extras |
- "Bloodlust: My Bloody Valentine and the Rise of the Slasher Film"
- "Bloodlines: An Interactive Horror Film History"
- Deleted Footage with Director, Cast and Special Effects Designer Introductions

Recommendation |
I remember seeing this as a teenager; it's funny what was scary and gruesome then isn't so much now. If you remember this film when it came out then you'll certainly want to revisit it; nine minutes of wonderful goriness has been added back. If not, this is a nice film to watch to see what used to be considered over-the-top scary and bloody horror. This is a standard 80's horror flick; horny teenagers breaking the rules and doing really stupid things like going down into a mine shaft at night after drinking beer. Horror fans will enjoy having this in their collection. |
