Plot

The opening scene of this film gives you a good idea of what to expect for the next two hours. Ethan Hunt (Cruise) has gone from the front lines to being a trainer. They call him back into action to rescue another agent that an arms dealer (the incredibly talented Phillip Seymour Hoffman) appears to have captured. Hunt obviously accepts the mission or there wouldn't have been a reason to make this film and the story continues to build from there.

Pros

If you thought the second film had lots of action, wait until you watch this one. Rhames provides enough lines to keep things light from time-to-time and Hoffman makes a really cool bad guy; hopefully this won't be the last time he does this.

Cons

All action, no brains and the husband/fiancé having a secret life unbeknownst to their spouse/significant other is not a new idea by any means.

Recommendation

I have to believe that the average to low ratings that people are giving this film has to do with people's personal opinion of Tom Cruise and his recent antics/opinions. This is easily the best of the Mission Impossible films and the one I will watch multiple times with equal enjoyment.
