It's the 23rd Century and everyone is forced to go into the Carousel to be "renewed" when they hit the age of 30. Some people try to run away instead and must be hunted down and killed by "Sandmen". One Sandman is tasked to find a place called Sanctuary, where runners go to survive, and destroy it.

Great story that also includes the lovely Jenny Agutter and, for a shot time, Farrah Fawcette. The special effects aren't state-of-the art due to the age, but the story is original and keeps your interest.

The only thing to complain about is that the movie is dated. But have no fear, rumors have been floating for awhile that there will be a remake on the horizon.

An entertaining science fiction film that will be enjoyed by people who aren't science fiction fans.
