It's 1889 and the world is on the verge of a World War thanks to the evil "Fantom". A gentlemen, M, is rounding up a group of "Extraordinary Gentlemen" to stop him from taking over the world. This group includes Allan Quatermain, Capt Nemo, Rodney Skinner (an Invisible Man), Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde, Mrs. Harker (a Vampire), Dorian Gray (an immortal) and Tom Sawyer. Apparently this is another in a long string of movies based on comic books that I haven't read (I never was one for comic books) so you won't find a comparison between the film and the comic book here.

There are a ton of really cool special effects intermixed with plenty of witty one-liners. If you're hunting for an over-the-top action movie, look no further.

This movie is what it is; don't look for a deep plot or hidden meanings.
