This is an extremely creepy movie as opposed to a gory one. The story is told in segments that lead up to the finale which explains everything for those that hadn't already figure it out. There's something especially eerie about a film that has a young boy in it like this one does. The Japanese soundtrack is in a very nice Dolby Digital 5.1 format as opposed to the 2.0 for the English dubbed version; I would highly recommend the Japanese track with subtitles. |

I found this movie on the shelf and immediately picked it up for two reasons. First, I had already heard about it and how good it was; it seems to make most Top 10 Horror Movie Lists. Second, I was very impressed with "Ringu", the film that the American "The Ring" was a remake of and I wanted to see if this film was that much better than the American version "The Grudge"; it is. If you liked "The Grudge", you owe it to yourself to watch this film. |
