Plot |
It's 1957 and the Russians are trying to learn the secrets of a crystal skull found in South America. Their search takes them from Area 51 to the jungles of South America. Their need for information leads to Indiana Jones getting drug into yet another adventure.

Pros |
The highlight for me is the fact they brought back Karen Allen's character from the first film; even though she seemed to lack the spunk she possessed in the first film. The special effects were nice and the audio/video was impressive. |
Cons |
This movie never picks up momentum; it just seems to drag along from one scene to another. Some of this might be due to the fact that Harrison Ford is just appears too old to be doing films like this; there just wasn't any magic from him like most of the previous films had. The wit and humor that has been a major part of this series was missing. What was the lovely and very talented Cate Blanchett thinking when she took the silly role of the Russian "bad guy"? All I could think of every time she spoke was Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle. And I really do miss the evil Nazis; they are always so much fun. |

Recommendation |
I watched this film with low expectations and they were met. This film just doesn't have the humor or cleverness of its predecessors. Die hard fans of this series will find things to like about it but shouldn't get their hopes up to high; this is the weakest film in the series no matter what you thought of "Temple of Doom". |
