Indiana Jones receives his father's diary in the mail, shortly after that he's approached by a wealthy collector to find the Holy Grail. As it so happens, Indiana's dad was on this same path when he recently disappeared in Italy. In the process of hunting for his dad he runs into a bunch of Nazis who are also looking for the grail. The race is on!

The first obvious plus to this film is the addition of Sean Connery as Indy's dad. The chemistry between these two actors is obvious and the humor/quips that were such a major part of the first Indiana film is back. On top of that you have some very well crafted action scenes, a decent plot, a very lovely lady and the Nazis as the bad guys.

The largest complaint I've heard about this film is that it's so much like the first one; it's just another search for a religious artifact before the Nazis get it and that it's predictable. Many people wanted something completely fresh even though most of them didn't like the second film that met this requirement. And is the best the Nazis could do was a WWI era tank?

If you weren't a fan of "The Temple of Doom", don't let that stop you from watching this film. Even though it has many of the themes of Raiders, this is still a lot of fun. Sequels to very popular films always suffer from the original movie's success and the second sequel rarely if ever produces; think "The Godfather", "Superman" etc. But seriously, how could a film go wrong when it adds Sean Connery and goes back to the formula that made the original such a success?
