Plot

This movie, like it's predecessor, starts in a less than perfect way for Indiana Jones. When all is said and done, he, a small boy and a completely out-of-place blond female singer are trapped in India. Their mission is to recover a stone that was stolen from a small village and discover where all their kidnapped children have been taken before they will be shown the way to freedom. So, they head to an ancient palace to unravel the mystery.

Pros

There's even more action in this film than Raiders and it's a lot more graphic. Some people may feel a bit squeamish at the dinner table scene. Most of the humor is fed from the little boy; funny in places but not quite up to what I wanted to hear. And hey guys, Kate Capshaw is really cute!

Cons

The kid and the lady got on my nerves after a very short while. He had way too many lines and her whining, especially in the beginning, makes you wish they would have just left her behind (she does add to the story later on so be patient). Having said that, many of my friends think the kid is great, so don't take my word on it. There isn't as many witty moments as I expected; I suppose it's hard to get that from a thirteen year old boy.

Recommendation

"Temple of Doom" is a good action-packed movie that simply had a hard act to follow. I was hoping for more of the battle against the Nazis like the first film so my opinion is likely a bit slanted. Having said that, it certainly doesn't deserve the scorn so many people have hurled at it and is a welcome addition to any action movie fan's collection.
