Plot |
An American man returns to Japan in the 19th century to retrieve the prostitute he promised to come back for. He finds the last place she stayed and is told her story.

Pros |
As is the case with the other films I've seen this director do, he doesn't skimp when it comes to gore and violence. There's a rather lengthy scene involving long needles that made me cringe and look away. And, when's the last time you saw an abortion being performed in a movie and the fetus unceremoniously dumped in a river? |
Cons |
Without giving away too much, the part with the "twin" was really silly and even though it is just over an hour long, it had some dead spots. |

Recommendation |
If you're a fan of Takashi Miike's films then you'll definitely want to check this out. If you've never seen any of his other films, only true horror fans should give this film a try; if you're not sure, then walk away. This is not for children; hell, it's not even for many adults. |
