Plot

Warning: If you have not seen the first Hostel there are spoilers in this review.

Unlike the first film where the main characters were guys, now we have three lovely women; one is hot and flirty (just looking for the next party and guy), one is a cute and strong-willed lesbian and the last is whiney and insecure. They are led to the Slovakian village by a tall and beautiful model.

Pros

The brilliance of this film is you get to see the entire movie from the viewpoints of both the victims and criminals. It shows the people running the criminal activity and how they pull it off. You also get to see and know the people that are bidding on the lovely ladies. And last, but not least, I love what they did with the ending. I smell a Part III coming soon and already know how I would like to see it done.

Cons

Guys, even though the stars in this film are four lovely women, there is a lot less nudity than in the original.

Recommendation

It's rare that a sequel rushed out to take advantage of the original movies success is actually better but that is the case here. There's still plenty of gore but there is also more suspense and a better script. The fact that you know what's going on up front and how it all plays out makes it a better film. Once you watch the extras you can appreciate just how much fun Eli Roth has making films. If you're into this film and have watched the original, this is a must.
