There is a deformed monster living in a swamp outside of New Orleans that only comes out at night crying for his father; the one that accidentally killed him years earlier with, you guessed it, a hatchet. A bunch of tourists go on a nighttime swamp tour while visiting New Orleans; certainly nothing can go wrong here.

Opening scene in a swamp with a father and son hunting gators; both die bloody deaths. Then a Marilyn Manson song kicks in soon followed by a screen full of ladies breasts and that's just the opening minutes. Add to that some really cool deaths (no CGI), some pretty good humor and a great ending.

Some of the humor was really bad and everything is shot at night so you can't see as much as you might like. It feels very rushed and the script appeared to be ad libbed more often than not.

Horror fans should really enjoy this movie. It's obvious the actors had a great time filming it and you don't have to take my word for it, watch the extras. The writer has a more than interesting story about how this movie came to be and how Dee Snyder, from Twisted Sister, helped it happen.
