Plot

As you have guessed by the title, Dr. Lecter is back. It's been ten years since he was last heard from in "The Silence of the Lambs" and his peaceful existence in Italy has come to an end. Starling's (now played by Julianne Moore) FBI career isn't going so well either. Throw in a victim trying to get back at Lecter that uses Moore and one of her colleagues (Liotta) to do it, and we have a pretty good and twisted story.

Pros

Much to my surprise, it only takes a few minutes to go from Jodie Foster to Julianne Moore. This is an interesting story that keeps your attention from the beginning and I just love the scene with the brain.

Cons

This is nothing like its predecessor. There's no murder mystery here, just a case of people trying to catch a man that doesn't want to be caught for different reasons.

Recommendation

This is a much darker film than "The Silence of the Lambs" and some of the scenes are quite graphic. After watching this there is no doubt what kind of person Dr. Lecter actually is. I like this movie but can understand why some people do not.
