A very disturbed young man kills members of his family on Halloween. He is placed in a mental institution that he escapes from fifteen years later to wreak havoc on his hometown. This is a remake by Rob Zombie of the 1978 classic.

The primary differences in this film from the original are mostly subtle. First, since this is a modern version, you can expect more gore and nudity. This certainly helps for more gruesome death scenes and what guy will complain about a couple extra topless ladies? The primary difference is Rob went into detail about what could have set Michael Myers off leading to his mental issues and killing spree.

Anytime a filmmaker decides to remake what many fans is a classic, they're up against a lot. Some people will want nothing changed, others won't want the same movie all over again but most won't see the need to remake it at all.

This is a fun horror/slasher movie with plenty for every fan of this genre. Whether or not it competes with the original is for fans to determine; I felt like it fell short. After all, how could it be better without the lovely Jamie Lee Curtis? Seriously, my biggest complaint is that this film isn't as creepy as it's original.
