Plot |
This movie picks up exactly where the first leaves off; the opening scene is the last scene of the first flick. Even after being filled with lead, Michael is still on the loose. The lovely babysitter (Curtis) has been rushed to the hospital to have her injuries treated while the less-than-stable doctor (Pleasence) tries to convince just how dangerous the situation is even though he swears he unloaded his gun into Michael.

Pros |
Much of this film takes place in a hospital with Curtis running around in one of those gowns. There’s definitely more gore and skin in this movie; one of the deaths made me cringe way out of my comfort zone (as it will for anyone else that hates needles). |
Cons |
That is one hospital I hope I’ll never have to spend the night in; its dark (will somebody please turn on a light), understaffed, and the people that are there aren’t doing their jobs (ignoring patients, many of which are infants, to go to the sauna in back for sex is, if nothing else, irresponsible). Having the "boogeyman" terrorize a neighborhood with kids was more tense than having him rampage through a hospital. |

Recommendation |
This is a good sequel to a very good movie that simply had to be made for two reasons; the first movie made millions and the ending of it was screaming for a sequel though I do not believe that was the intent at the time. Free up an evening, turn down the lights, increase the volume, and enjoy Parts I & II back-to-back. |
