Plot

Five people head out to a remote cabin in the mountains. While there, they find the "Book of the Dead". Obviously things started going downhill from there.

Pros

First off, this movie wastes little time in getting started; you don't have to wade through a lot of nonsense wondering when the shit would finally hit the fan. Second, this is a low budget film with only five actors on one set which meant there was money left over for extra blood and gore and they didn't let that money go to waste. There are gallons and gallons of fake blood and just good old fashioned goo/nastiness. It's pretty cool what clever people could do before the advent of CGI.

Cons

Did I mention there was a lot of blood and gore? Some of the voices and screaming can get on your nerves.

Recommendation

This is a must have for anyone that proclaims to be a horror buff but it's something you'll want to keep away from the kiddies or people that are prone to having bad dreams.
