The world is divided between mages and commoners. Empress Savina (Birch) believes that everyone should be treated equally while the evil mage Profion (Irons) basically wants to rule the kingdom himself. There is a quest involving a diverse group of individuals that are trying to help the queen and there are Profion's soldiers out there to stop them.

Good special effects (for its day), lots of humor and a fairly simple storyline. You don't have to be a D&D player to follow this movie.

Jeremy Irons and Marlon Wayans; Irons for his way over-the-top performance as the evil mage and Wayans for his constant shrieking and futile attempts at being funny.
