Plot
This movie follows Germany's Field Marshal Erwin Rommel from his command in Africa to his "suicide" in 1944. |
Pros
This is a good look at one of WWII's most respected military leaders from all sides of the war. The performances are good and it being in black & white adds to mood. |
Cons
If you're looking for an action-packed war movie, this is not it. The only war action in this film is footage from the war itself. Rommel deserved more of a movie like Patton got as opposed to what he got here. This film simply shows how his dislike/distrust for Hitler grows, knowledge he had of the conspiracy to kill Hitler and then his eventual death. |

Recommendation
The audience for this film is limited to people interested in Rommel or World War II. Simply put, this is a WWII documentary filmed in a movie format and it portrays Rommel in nothing but the most positive light. |
