This movie follows Germany's Field Marshal Erwin Rommel from his command in Africa to his "suicide" in 1944.

This is a good look at one of WWII's most respected military leaders from all sides of the war. The performances are good and it being in black & white adds to mood.

If you're looking for an action-packed war movie, this is not it. The only war action in this film is footage from the war itself. Rommel deserved more of a movie like Patton got as opposed to what he got here. This film simply shows how his dislike/distrust for Hitler grows, knowledge he had of the conspiracy to kill Hitler and then his eventual death.

The audience for this film is limited to people interested in Rommel or World War II. Simply put, this is a WWII documentary filmed in a movie format and it portrays Rommel in nothing but the most positive light.
