Plot |
A group of people, some military and some civilian scientists, are hunting for human survivors in Florida and experimenting with zombies that have been captured. They hole up in a military bunker and that's when the fun begins. This is George Romero's third zombie movie (" Night of the Living Dead", " Dawn of the Dead"), that alone means it's a classic.

Pros |
The video and audio quality of this film is excellent. The zombies are convincing, like that would be hard, and the story will keep your attention. The tension is good between the military and civilians and there are some interesting plot twists along the way. Who knew zombies could learn? Then again my dogs know certain commands too. There are plenty of extras if you're an extras junkie like I am. There is one scene where John gives his explanation why he thinks all this has happened that is thought provoking. |
Cons |
The movie is crude in places (hint, there is only one female, and an attractive one at that) and the military is depicted in a most unfavorable way; I'm retired from the Air Force and would hope that military members would behave better even under these extraordinary circumstances. The acting isn't horrible but it's certainly 'B' grade; this is evident in the lack of roles these actors had before and after making this film. |

Recommendation |
This is an entertaining film that makes some strong observations concerning human nature. Most aren't very promising or positive but I also suspect they're not far from the truth. |
