Plot |
A small boy is kidnapped and held for ransom. His grandmother summons her ex-husband (Wayne) to get him back. She knows it will take a special kind of man for this job.
|
Pros |
It's a John Wayne western with quite a bit of humor. "You can call me Dad, you can call me Father, you can call me Jacob and you can call me Jake. You can call me a dirty old son-of-a-bitch, but if you EVER call me Daddy again, I'll finish this fight." |
Cons |
This movie takes place after the advent of the automobile. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but the scenes with the cars and motorcycle just doesn't fit in with a John Wayne western. |

Recommendation |
It's not my favorite John Wayne movie but it's certainly high on the list. Wayne was 64 when this movie was filmed; he only did 7 other films before he passed away 8 years later. |
