Plot

A satellite has detected a pyramid buried deep underground in Antarctica. A team of experts in many fields are quickly assembled for an expedition to that site. Gee, I wonder what they'll find?

Pros

They took the time to tie in the two franchises into a believable story which made for a very entertaining film. The actors they brought in were from all over the world and, for the most part, not household names, bringing an international flare to the film. I also loved how they brought Lance back into the fold tying his character back into Aliens.

Cons

They decided to water the film down so that it could get a PG-13 rating and I would have liked to have seen a lot more action between the namesakes of this film and a little less of the humans wandering a maze.

Recommendation

If you enjoy science fiction and liked the previous films (at least the 1st two Alien and 1st Predator movies) then you'll enjoy this. That is everyone except for the people I describe below. Warning, it's a rant!

If you go to IMDb and read the negative reviews of this film you might come away thinking it's the worse film ever made; the fan boys ripped it to shreds. A word to the fan boys that can quote every specific about Aliens/Predators off the top of their heads because they've memorized all the movies and comic books; get a freaking life. If you're not going to move out of your parents basement at least force yourself to walk outside once a day to get some air. Reading their critiques will both make you laugh and cry; laugh about how damn silly and detailed they are (it's only a movie after all) and cry that this (a movie) meant so much to a person they were willing, and had the time, to write a thesis decrying a simple film. After all, this is science fiction; though I fear many of these people feel otherwise.
